Workflow management rules offer an opportunity for companies to define their own business processes without needing extensive programming knowledge. These rules can be used by organizations to automate the process of completing tasks and identify any potential issues in real-time.

In the workflow, evaluation criteria determine when an action should be performed. The criteria could be based on different parameters, such as field values and record types and ownership of records and many more. Workflow rules can be set up to trigger action based on events relating to notes in a particular module. For instance, a company could set up the rule to run when notes are added or modified in order that it’s simple for customer support teams to keep track of mentions of competitors in emails and respond promptly.

Once a rule has been activated it will trigger either an immediate action or a scheduled one. Instant actions occur in the instant the rule is activated, when scheduled actions occur at an earlier date and time.

The scheduled action will be carried out at the time and date specified. The action can be an email notification, task, field update, webhook or function. You can also select any email notifications or tasks, field updates or webhooks to be associated with the scheduled action. You can also select tags that will be used to filter data recorded for this action.
